...to explain two recent entries (one and two). My mom called on August 5, while I was helping a friend with a Denver film contest, that my black lab/mix Grease, who turned 13 last month, hadn't moved or eaten in about two days. I considered going home that night, but decided to wait till the next weekend and have more than 36 hours at home. So I spent $425 on last-minute plane tickets and spent four days in Idaho, mostly with Grease but making plenty of time for old friends, which proved valuable to my emotions considering the bittersweet nature of the trip. Since Grease is too old to sleep in my bed, which she did regularly whenever I was home for 13 years, I spent two nights on the ground outside with her. Perfect times.
Thursday night, my mom called that she died. I left Stella's and went to the nearest elementary school swings for over an hour.
I was 8 when I got her in 1994. I still remember scouring the classifieds day after day for a dog, and the small farm I picked her up at.. The people were nice, and she was a little young--only 6 weeks. I just wanted the black one. I'd always wanted a black lab named Grease. She cost $10.
I miss her.

So the laptop repair people are giving me shit after the repairman canceled tonight's appointment. I tell Marco and joke that I suck at being a bitch and he reminds me that he loves yelling at people and that's why his dad always made him do the whipping and firing at the company.
Marco: "You want me to call them? Give me the phone number. ok, I'll be right back"
10 minutes later marco calls back: "okay hun, I have good news and bad news. Bad news is they wanted to push you back until after the 4th of July. Good news is that after a lot of subsequent yelling, they canceled some 'less important person's' appointment and scheduled you for Monday. I also told them that I am going to report them to the Better Business Bureau and I have the regional manager's number for you."
good god! I need to learn how to be mean to people!
Anyway, it's still lame--I would be in DC this weekend but I had to be here for a now-nonexistent appointment. Lame! DC later in the summer. For now--Walmart! I'm pissed enough to need the 2 mile walk. |

Today I saw President Bush, and was on national news for it! (still finding picture proof of that; my mom saw the clip)
Mom, Roger, Heidi, Matt and I sat on the floor section.
white trash flag pole stage podium! I missed the guy who put the seal on though--damn that would've been a great picture. the man emerges a very Bush face the Mrs. another very Bush pose you want to say it, Mr. President, "strategery"... any chimp can play human for a day... ridiculously good-looking (for 30+yo) Secret Service agent when I'm President, I'm dating my SS agents. Sweet. Glory. mmmm
Proof that I was within 2 feet of the President and barely missed an autograph.
-he only mispronounced two words, the more important of which was Libya (but quickly corrected) -only thing in the speech worth noting was regarding Nampa: "fix the potholes" -oh, and, he basically promised that for as long as he's in office, we'll be at war. Oh, wait, that's not news is it...
Yeah, he may not be the greatest, but he's President and that was damn cool. I'm definitely gunning for his job.
Look who's hiding behind the President!! |

"Get out of my chair, cobbler!" "It's only 20 bucks, it's not worth beating someone up over. Now if it were 25 I'd kick your ass." "What am I, stamp-less in Seattle?" "Justin Timberlake is my favorite rapper." "Watch out for the dead bird! My daddy killed it and left it there." "I'll take my badge off so no one thinks you're a retarded child." |

Shout out to the guy who commented on my I'm Blogging This shirt at One More Cup. This post is public so if you do check it, you can see your "fame". Oh I'm awesome.
Aaron - thanks for last night. Was it as good for you? Oh I try.
Two shots of Primer (can't decide if I like it or not, but undeniably interesting) and a followup of American Beauty, I got no sleep and still didn't finish my puzzle. I need more movies.
Off to stalk Mr. Eyer!
KELSEY'S COMING! when she gets her lazy ass out of bed, at least :) |

Good news: I got an A in Chinese 2, which will now be added to my transcript, raising my GPA.
Bad news: X-Rays show my wisdom teeth are touching my molars and still moving. Oral surgeon consultation June 7th; surgery to follow. General anesthetic, so just take all 4 at once even though only one is a problem.
Optimistic angle: I've always wanted a general anesthetic!
Necessary reality check: It's going to hurt like hell. :) |

One night in line was perfect. More, and I’d have been bored. Less, and I’d have missed the Clone Wars cartoons showing into the wee hours of the morn. (I was glad to have the opening sequence of ROTS animated out for me, and feel all trivia-upped knowing why Grievous coughs.) Met some friends (one guy gave me his burned Mitch Hedberg cd when he learned I didn’t have it!) and didn’t get too wet in the rain. ( *SPOILERS* (and post replies might be too) – my ROTS breakdown )
EP3 rocked. And that wasn’t even digital (which I’ll hit this weekend). |

~I love the fluffy way cornbread batter looks after it's been sitting the recommended 3-4 minutes. ~I was hungry, so I ate Apple Jacks. Why did I have Apple Jacks? Is it because Yoda looks so amazing on the box? No (although I love Yoda, and want to bear his midichlorian-ridden offspring). It's because it came with ( this )--a light-up lightsaber spoon!!!
in other news HOLY SHIT HOW DID I NOT DISCOVER EDISON CHEN 4 MONTHS AGO! mmm |

Just got back from Sharis with Katie...damn that was a good, well-needed time. We really missed each other.
Found my cam cord again, so aside from the pics already circulating *cough* ( Read more... )

Comedian Mitch Hedberg dies at age 37 My favorite, from memory (b/c ipod!=working again)
I have two sisters, one of them's named Wendy and she thinks I'm weird. But she's weird, cause she has a husband and two children and they have a family photo on top of their vcr, where they're all looking slightly to the left, as though something's going on over there. The camera is right in front of you! but I guess something happened to the left that made everybody happy. Except my sister's cross-eyed so she can't quite pull it off--one eye is right the fuck on." |

~it's 12.5 miles from JIB to the Melba junction. That's 12.5 miles of beautiful, straight, cop-free (past walmart) road. My new favorite "i need to drive" route.
~jello is making me seriously sick to my stomach
~one of my new Sharis friends came over tonight. I picked him up (he's been going through hell lately, which leads to a lot of intoxication) and we watched Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star over here. Fun times :) |

It's Eric's birthday, so 8 people who don't know him very well kidnapped him (so they could leave him at his surprise party and escape :P).
They had a girl in Ford call him right after 8pm. 6 of them hid along Culver's wall and 2 others hid within view of Culver's doors to make sure he didn't go out the other way. When he walked out the doors, he got about 6 steps into culver's lawn when the first gang took. him. down. lol It was so funny. The other 2 arrived for backup. They had him down for a minute while they bagged his head, tied his hands and feet, then carried him off and tossed him in the back of one guy's jeep.
This, of course, I just witnessed. The rest of the plan: they drove him around for about 5 minutes, none of them ever said a word and they'd knock him if he tried to talk, then they dropped him off (still bagged and tied) at his surprise party and left, and his friends untied him and said "surprise" and all that. They just walked back across the lawn so this part must have went off well, too.

I dreamt that the new members of the summer witness groups had a very sexual photoshoot.
Then a creepy guy wanted me to be a model and was going to pay for my training. And then a guy in a restaurant who I thought was going to hit on me said I was a "6".
And then there was a photographer who charged a $billion/day because his pictures were so good and he makes fake snow for a cool mid-flying forest effect.
